10. Helena Ravenclaw’s Betrayal Of Her Mother
Amidst the chaos of the Battle of Hogwarts, Harry questioned the Grey Lady about the location of the Lost Diadem of Ravenclaw, and the tale that followed was more than a little intriguing.
In an attempt to make herself cleverer and more important than her mother (who was one of the four Hogwarts founders), Helena Ravenclaw stole the diadem and fled to a forest in Albania. She was then tracked down by a man who had a great affection for her – the Bloody Baron. After hiding the diadem in a hollow tree, Helena was then killed by the Baron for refusing his advances.
As interesting as this tale was for Harry Potter fans, the details of the story were rather lacking, and as such, an in-depth look at Helena’s relationship with her mother and the Baron would make for a fascinating one-off movie.
In addition to giving fans an insight into this largely unknown period of magical history, it would also be an opportunity to give Ravenclaw House some overdue time in the limelight.
